Carol service planned for Kettering
A festive carol service will be returning to Kettering this December.
The Town Carol Service will be held at St Peter and St Paul's Parish Church on Thursday 19 December.
Presented by St Peter & St Paul's Church and the Rotary Club of Kettering, on behalf of Kettering & District Churches Together and Kettering Town Council, the service is made up of a series of Christmas readings and popular carols.
Rev David Walsh said: "I am delighted that we are able to host and organise this great service of festive celebration for the whole town, working with our partners The Rotary Club of Kettering. I'm grateful for the support and encouragement of the Town Council and of Churches Together. I'm very much looking forward to it."
The Salvation Army Band will also be performing as part of the event and
A collection during the service will be taken for Kettering Mind, the Mayor of Kettering's chosen charity for the year.
Cllr Craig Skinner, Mayor of Kettering, said: "I am honoured to be doing a reading at the annual carol service. This is a special time of year when the town can come together to celebrate Kettering and prepare for the Christmas period. The service is open to all and is a highlight of the calendar in December."
As well as the Mayor, the following organisations will be doing a reading during the service: the Rotary Club of Kettering, Churches Together, Kettering Mind, Ise Valley Scouts, Kettering Neighbourhood Policing Team, Pegasus Software and Kettering Food Bank.
The service will be at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Market Place, Kettering, at 7:30pm on Thursday 19 December 2024.
